The starting
point for all my works is an aesthetic idea. From the
outward form the substance of the work usually develops.
Behind the initial truth another truth sometimes emerges
at a deeper level. If I can grasp such truths I make
them available to the viewer. The viewer must, in any
event, have the opportunity to develop his own experiences
with the object. People often share their experiences
with me and through this process I am able to see myself
in a new light. For such gifts I am naturally extremely
thankful.
Through my aesthetic I aim to hold the viewer, move
him and draw him further into the work… until
he meets himself…until he asks himself questions
and seeks answers….and perhaps finds those answers….
Rubbish Steel Company :
Steel, with the many possibilities it offers, is central
to my work. I particularly love heavily weathered steel
and wood. A wide variety of sculptural and design items
constantly leave my studio. For me „Company“
stands for endeavouring to provide mutual encouragement
to all those I come into contact with through my work.
For me the viewer is also the artist.
