| Dick Whall
was born in Great Yarmouth in 1939. He studied at Great
Yarmouth School of Art & Crafts, Norwich School of
Art and schools of the Royal Academy of Arts, London during
the late 1950's and early 1960's.
Dick was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy
by Coventry University in 1996 for work on hypertext
authoring. A retired Head of Fine Art at Coventry University
and Visiting Professor of Fine Art at the University
of Massachusetts U.S.A., he served on the Council for
National Academic Awards (CNAA) Fine Art Panel and was
external examiner at various universities in the U.K..
Dick has lectured widely in the U.K. and in the U.S.A..
He has exhibited nationally and internationally for
more than thirty years and was awarded the Premio Puccamp/Honorifico
Medal by the Republica Federativa do Brasil for the
Biennial Internacional de Gravura in 1987.
Dick lives and works in Sheringham on the North Norfolk
coast. |
