Clare Meade studied for a BA in Fine Art at Sheffield and Trent Polytechnics, obtaining a First Class Honours Degree in 1980. She then studied for her Masters at Reading University, obtaining an MA in Fine Art in 1983.

Since then she has exhibited widely in the South East of England, particularly in Suffolk where she lives with her family.
