Bernhard Winkler was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1964. Since attending
art school he has worked full-time as an artist.

Winkler works primarily in acrylics and his paintings can best be described
as figurative-surrealist. In his paintings Winkler holds a mirror up to
society and comments on social activity and social interactions in an
ironic, sometimes cynical, but never unfriendly or preaching way. The
expressiveness and vibrancy of his colourful paintings and the clear line
they follow makes them instantly recognisable and rewarding.
